106. A New Brand Launches Petite Sizing, Veronica Beard's Really Great Clutch, and a Mini Tory Burch Sale Guide
This is EVERY BODY GETS DRESSED’s weekly curated edit of the only fashion newness worthy of your attention.
Some readers may know that I used to run a Petite clothing brand. We worked with a small atelier in South London, run by a couple who had developed a clever pattern-making technology that made it possible to scale made-to-measure clothing. It meant better fits for people who don’t slot easily into standard sizing.
This was right after the pandemic. The atelier ran out of funding, and not long after, we did too. I closed the business, and while it was the right decision for me, I’ve kept a close eye on how the industry is (or isn’t) moving forward when it comes to size inclusivity. Not much is happening. The only brands with the scale to do it are big conglomerates. I know how expensive it is and how much of a gamble it can be for small brands to expand their size range, which is why I’m always impressed when I see newer labels, like Rue Sophie, take that risk.
The brand is still in its early stages, with only a handful of SKUs. People love to describe them as The Row at affordable prices. I don’t find this kind of comparison very useful. It sets expectations that the brand can’t realistically meet; the aesthetic may be similar, but there will always be a quality and craftsmanship gap between these price points and The Row. That said, Rue Sophie’s basics are genuinely strong. Some people who own both have reported actually wearing their Rue Sophie pieces more. This week, they introduced Petite sizing for several of their bestsellers. Some of the styles now available in Petite include their much raved-about Provenance oversized jacket, Balham trench coat, and Parc pant. Trench coats and oversized pants that fit women under 5ft4 properly? Yes, please. I know some of you reading have been following what I’m up to since the KJINSEN (rip) days, so I’ll continue to flag this kind of launch when I come across them.
Yesterday, Dorsey launched the second drop of their City Summer collection. As part of it, the paracord necklace ‘returns for the last time’ (to use the brand’s language, this might mean this will be the last restock). They also introduce new styles, including a gold Moissanite lariat and my personal favourite, a silver torsion chain necklace, which you can pair with the paracord’s pavé pendant, as it’s now sold as a standalone.
Additionally, their best-selling Lucien earrings are back in stock. They relaunched the style with an updated latchback construction (a curved wire hoop that hugs the earlobe for a snug fit).
New pieces from Khaite’s pre-fall collection just dropped, and I immediately honed in on the styles that still feel right for summer, like these two standout pairs of white trousers: the Walter, a cropped cotton canvas flare with crisp pressed creases, and the Clover, a pull-on cropped barrel-leg style in structured cotton poplin. The new collection also includes open-knit cotton sweaters — one of summer’s chicest, effortless staples. Net-A-Porter also just restocked their raspberry-printed pieces from the Summer 2025 collection.
One thing my summer wardrobe has been missing is a flat, chunky boot to wear with shorts or skirts on days that aren’t too hot. I’m spending most of the summer in the city, and there have already been a few occasions where sandals didn’t feel right (and trainers aren’t for me). I hadn’t found the perfect pair yet, but the new Clive boot might be it. I love the rustic look of the vintage colourway styled with a white tank and belted straight-leg jean. Sizing note: I always take a half size up in Khaite boots — I’m usually a 36.5 and go for a 37. From other reviews I’ve seen, that seems to be the consensus.
Savette launched its pre-fall 2025 collection, introducing the Florence Hobo—a soft, crescent-shaped shoulder bag with a more minimalist and modern feel than the rest of the polished, workwear-leaning Florence family. This drop also includes some new colourways of the Symmetry Pochette.
If you’re still unsure whether a bag that can’t be slung over your shoulder feels practical enough, and you want to try the shape at a lower price point, Veronica Beard’s Dash clutch is under $500 and has a similar shape. The reviews, for both the clutch and its larger bag version, are overwhelmingly positive.
This would have been all over your Instagram feeds last week, but J.Crew recently collaborated with luxury hotel Masseria San Domenico in Puglia for a limited-edition capsule (which really only has a cute silk scarf worth your attention). However, they did invite friends of the brand to the hotel, who served up some looks, all of which are shoppable here. Among our favourite looks, poet Orion Carloto wore a floral-patterned halter dress, French influencer Camille Charrière wore a hydrangea blue outfit with this organza sequin skirt and this v-neck cashmere-silk blend top, and Substack’s very own Laura Reilly wore a ramie slip skirt over a ditsy floral balconette bikini.
Guest In Residence is the only celebrity brand that's on my heavy rotation. If you’re not yet on that train, keep that brand on your radar for any future cashmere purchases. Take it from Andrea Chong, a content creator who provides in-depth reviews on the quality of popular brands and is a must-follow for those seeking a quality-first approach to shopping. I have been following her for five years, and it’s the only brand I’ve ever heard her say has blown her mind.
They have just introduced some new summer arrivals. Cashmere’s fine fibers trap warmth without overheating, which is why lightweight cashmere knits are great for breezy summer evenings. The drop includes new pastel and light colourways for their shrunken crew, shrunken polo, and cable-knit crewneck.

Co dropped their pre-fall collection. One of my favourite things to wear in the summer is a boxy short-sleeve shirt, and I really like their version. These canvas gladiator wrap sandals are unlike any other sandal on the market.
I recently discovered their founder’s newsletter
and enjoyed this list of things she loves, and her recent reflection on what it means to have great style.
From LESET’s June collection, this silk-cotton scoop-back dress will be an easy bathing suit cover-up and look amazing dressed up with a gold or silver cuff and a pair of strappy sandals. Also worth noting is this new Cinderella-blue colourway for their satin cardigan and matching trousers.
This one-piece bathing suit stopped me in my scroll last week. It’s unusual to see a swimwear design that we’ve not already seen before. This design also comes in blue, and the same brand makes a sweet retro-looking bikini, the full-coverage boyshort bottoms and triangle top feel ‘50s-leaning, while the white contrast piping adds a ’70s touch. And it’s called The Bowie 🧡.
White Lotus’ Leslie Bibb wore a striped Proenza Schouler cotton poplin shirt dress on the cover of CULTURED Mag Hamptons edition. That shirt is now on sale at 40% off. In the cover story interview, she shared her summer uniform: ‘I’m anti-flip-flop right now; I’ve turned on them. I like a great skirt, a great top, or a really good jean with a tank top.” To channel her summer uniform, you could turn to this great silk twill printed skirt or this great top from Proenza's latest collection.
Proenza’s White Label also features some great newness, such as this A-line skirt in printed poplin, this textured cotton dress, and these casual pleated poplin pants.

Recently, I’ve been mesmerised by Katie Casper’s pregnancy outfits. She’s been my favourite source of style inspiration this summer, even though I’m not pregnant. If you’re into vintage pieces, she also writes a weekly column similar to this one, but focused entirely on vintage finds. One piece she bought during pregnancy, with the intention of wearing it long after, is the Baserange Pictorial top. The drawstrings can be adjusted to fit a nine-month bump, which is kind of impressive. It’s been sold out everywhere, but it just dropped in a new grey colourway as part of Baserange’s new Autumn collection. I ordered it in an XS. I don’t love how oversized it looks on their site (the drawstrings aren’t cinched), so here’s Katie wearing it for reference. Other highlights from the Baserange drop include vintage-style graphic tees, as well as new colourways of their heart top and Omato tees. Sizing note: Size up for comfort. If you’re short, be aware that the torso and sleeves run very long. For more detailed notes, you can read my full review below.
A Mini Tory Burch Sale Guide
The Tory Burch semi-annual sale is on until July 7th. I know Tory has many loyal fans among this newsletter’s readers, but—just as I said about the Tibi sale a few weeks ago—it’s easy to feel like you should shop somewhere just because everyone else is. Only you know which pieces will truly earn their place in your wardrobe.
To me, Tory’s strength lies in designing timeless, eye-catching statement pieces that do all the work when paired with your simplest, most comfortable basics. If you’re drawn to summer style à la Courtney Grow or Naomi Elizee, that mix of ease and polish, like a sequin top with denim Bermudas or a sheer skirt with a casual white tee, then this sale is worth a look.
If your style words include urban, elevated, easy, or feminine, Tory Burch may also be right in your lane.
Finally, it’s a great destination if you need to dress up for the office but want pieces that bring a bit more of your personality into your corporate wardrobe.
If you’re looking for show-stopping pieces to pair with your most comfortable basics. Tops: 1 and 2. Skirts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
If you’re looking for cocktail dresses. Bold and elevated: 1, 2, and 3. Cool and understated: 1, 2, and 3.
If you’re looking for interesting pieces for the office: 1, 2, 3, and 4, and specifically, closed-toe shoes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting Every Body Gets Dressed.
Note: If you purchase something through one of the links in the weekly shopping edit emails, I may earn a small commission at no cost to you.
Great to know about Rue Sophie! I have the Provenance jacket and while it works, the XXS is still pretty oversized on me. Will be looking out for more petites. I was also on the hunt for petite focused Substacks. A girl can only hope!
SO exciting about Rue Sophie, especially after Kjinsen 🥲! And the Tory Burch sale means it might be finally time for me to get a pair of shoes from the brand!
