EVERY BODY GETS DRESSED’s weekly curated edit of the only fashion newness worthy of your attention.
Baserange was one of the first to launch their summer collection this week. In December, I ordered some of the brand’s classic tops (Omato, Vein, etc.) and promised a review, so here’s the TLDR. On fit: If you’re tall or have a long torso and arms, you’ll find they fit perfectly. If you don’t, you’ll find that the sleeves scrunch up quite a bit (see below). Folded over, they do not look good, and you lose the lettuce edge's appeal. If you usually need to alter sleeves on standard-sized tops and jackets, I recommend going for Baserange’s options with short or 3/4 length sleeves. I’ll do this when I repurchase (I’m 5 ft 0). On sizing: if you’re between sizes, go up. In fact, I will be bullish here, even if you’re not, go up one size. These are skin-tight, and I bought both the XS (my usual size) and the S; the latter is much more comfortable. I sold the smaller sizes on Vinted, and nothing I have ever listed sold faster. This is worth noting if you care about the resale value of what you buy as much as I do. On design: there’s nothing quite like it in terms of making a simple t-shirt look this cool. Onto that summer collection, if I suited a bright cherry red, this would be a no-brainer (the short-sleeved or 3/4 sleeved version, as per). This new warm toasted brown shade is really hot, as is this nineties-leaning squared neckline knit. Crinkled linen will be everywhere this summer - it’s certainly prominent in Studio Nicholson’s summer collection that came out yesterday - I like Baserange's simple spin on it in this simple white dress.

March’s Friends and Family sales are becoming as common a practice as Black Friday. I made the most of it by re-ordering some of my most-worn pieces, like the Guest In Residence cashmere crew and Anderson textured leather belt. Frame had one of the better Friends and Family sales (it’s still on but will end Sunday). You’ll save a decent amount on classic cornerstone pieces not often found on sale: a $175 saving on this short trench and a $400 saving on this leather safari jacket. If you’re shopping for jeans but are new to Frame’s denim, I can’t recommend their super-stretch fabric enough. It is indeed super stretchy and the perfect transitional weight. I might still pick this black tank top with the draped back detail. Unassuming, but I have a couple of similar tops and I’m wearing them all into the ground.
Donni released a second spring drop. If you’re not already a fan, this is where you will find your summer staples, like 100% linen or silk simple pants, cotton knit V-necks, and poplin boxers in candy-colored stripes.
House of Dagmar made summer tailoring perfection. If you have a chic office to wear it to, I suggest this salt and pepper bouclé suit with pleated shorts and double-breasted blazer. Or you can try these easier-wearing pieces: this curved pleated skirt or this deconstructed blazer. I love the raw edges on the sleeves and neckline.

Leset launched their March collection, including Spring colours for their cult best-selling pieces like the pointelle tee and Kyoto carpenter pants. I ordered both of these and this boat-neck blouson top, which I plan to dress up with low-rise bias-cut satin pants. Other highlights include this double-layer dress, which does the styling heavy lifting for you, and this Sakura-pink satin cardigan - style it under a black blazer or with raw indigo denim (see inspo here).
Similar to the Leset boat-neck blouson top but a touch more elevated, Tibi just released this cotton gabardine shirt. I am a massive fan of a top or vest that mimics a jacket’s cinched-in silhouette without the fuss of a lining, shoulder pads, etc. To lean into monochromatic styling, they made a bubble skirt with oversized pockets in the same deep plum cotton gabardine and this oversized sleeveless top, which can be worn two ways.
Last year, I reviewed Everlane’s best-selling Day Glove flats along with similar minimalist ballet flats from other brands. They have just come out with a very contemporary-looking version of it with a circular heel. It’s a compelling contender against higher-priced brands. Make sure you read below for my full review and what to expect in terms of quality before buying. These, along with this funnel-neck tank top with glowing reviews and these classic baggy denim shorts, are solid ingredients for a well-balanced high-low spring outfit.

Aflalo, Reformation’s founder's newer brand, has just launched denim. The fits aren’t groundbreaking; however, a few pieces from their spring collection stand out, such as this top made from deadstock French lace and this satin backless red dress.
Maria McManus’ spring collection brings perfectly executed basics with a twist, macrame hems and pocket details show up on linen t-shirt dresses and glossy satin long pieces. The collection also includes statement midi-length skirts and shorts that will single-handedly make an outfit when styled with even the most pared-back tank tops and tee shirts: a mercerised cotton skirt knitted using a float technique, silver basketball shorts, and a cherry red sheer silk skirt. I could easily add all of the above to basket - one of my favourite spring collections so far.

Thank you so much for reading and supporting Every Body Gets Dressed.

Liza! I desperately need a capsule including those scarosso boat shoes you’ve been raving about (seriously contemplating buying them but not
sure how to style them) ❤️
I just love how you keep us abreast of the best newness in these missives! XX
