Wow, I loved this. My own writing touches on some of these themes but not from the perspective of having been in the fashion industry, more so from the perspective of someone who picked up enjoying fashion as a “hobby.” This perspective gave me a lot to think about, specifically around the industry’s exclusivity and the market-driving forces surrounding the fashion industry and how that’s separate from true style.
Thank you, Cate, and thank you for your continuous support. I'm very grateful for it.
I have found, over the years, that what resonates with people is when I share my perspective as a consumer and when I show the transformation/introspection. I also think people are growing tired of the industry's gimmicks. Keep sharing your thoughts, I'm sure it'll resonate with a lot of people! Xx
So on point! It makes me think about how recently someone told me that my thrifted jacket was “so trendy” (and they genuinely meant it as a compliment) and my heart sank. So with you in the goal of being stylish, individual, not “fashionable”, and that’s why I love your newsletter!
Me too! I do not want to play in the fashion space where there are many other more well-versed players who I love to read & think about. I can forget a runway show is even happening because I’m focused on personal style in real life. And that’s OK.
Excellent point I missed: so many people in this space 'do fashion' extraordinarily well. Sometimes I'll overlap. And... that's OK. Perfectly put. Happy Tuesday Rachel ❤️ x

Hahaha, oops, that compliment didn't land. I think you're stylish, cool, and fashionable, and aaaaaall the things in one. Love you ❤️
Thank you for putting the focus on the individual and what works for them rather than relentlessly promoting trends.
Hi Beth, thank you so much for your kind words and continuous support. I'm really glad this approach resonates with you. Have a wonderful week x
