The only newness, sales, restocks, and pieces worth your attention.
Two things to report from J.Crew, starting with the Boy Chino: mine have arrived, and they are very, very good. I sized down in the Petite length (I ordered a 24; I’m usually a 25), and the fit is perfect. As I previously mentioned, the silhouette isn’t what I picture when I think of chinos: low-rise, fitted through the hips, and flared through the leg. The two most recent reviews say, “For someone who is more curvy, it’s very flattering,” and “These make my legs look so long.” Both are true for me. My wardrobe did not need a third pair of low-rise black flared trousers, and I happily retired a recently acquired pair of Gimaguas to make room for these. Next, the brand has reworked the Rollneck™ sweater in shrunken proportions, keeping it in 100% cotton with the chunky ribbed trim, and adding a quarter-zip and waist-hugging fit. Wear it with mid- or low-rise jeans to show a little skin, or layered over a white tee with high-rise pleated pants for a more polished look. The campaign for the Tiny Rollneck stars Emma Chamberlain in a world of early-web graphics: Windows 98-era visuals, pixelated UI, and a retro mouse pointer.
Every fall, the same reckoning arrives. The past three months have left behind a trail of purchases: loud colors, backless and braless pieces that never saw daylight, and far too much Reformation. London returns to its habitual gray, and with it comes the guilt. I start calculating how little mileage I’m likely to get from everything I have just bought (though luckily, Reformation holds up very well on the resale market). For the record, I think that line of thinking is bullsh*t. There are seasons for having fun with clothes and seasons for investing in longevity. I shouldn’t regret the top cut down to the navel any more than I should regret the fun times I had wearing it. Still, I feel compelled to compensate with more wardrobe-building purchases, and nothing makes me feel more like a grown-up than returning to the same brand season after season when a new collection arrives. There are only two brands I shop this way: TOTEME and Studio Nicholson. I buy at least one piece from most collections, and I almost always make that purchase in store. This week, I went to Studio Nicholson to see the Autumn ’26 collection, inspired by Ang Lee’s 1997 film The Ice Storm. There are signs of early-’70s Connecticut prep in the Bowe mustard suede jacket, chocolate corduroy Chalco pants and Santini corduroy shirt, and chunky-ribbed half-zip Maren knit. I bought the Chalco in cream corduroy, making this my third pair. They’ve been my favorite four-pocket, jeans-style trousers on the market for the past 8 years. A warning before I convert anyone: they’re extremely voluminous, with an exaggerated drop crotch. That happens to be my all-time favorite silhouette; it won’t be for everyone. My next purchase will be the Cahun belted denim pants. Those, along with many other pieces from the collection, have also just landed on Net-A-Porter.
On Wednesday, I joined the With Nothing Underneath team to celebrate the launch of their first denim collection. The London-based brand, which has perfected the button-down, is serious about making the best possible version of each piece in its tightly edited collection. The denim launch consists of three pairs of jeans, all two years in the making. The team told me the office became a revolving door of fit models, brought in day after day to get the fit and sizing as close to perfect as possible. There’s the Stevie, a cropped flare and the only pair with a little stretch, and the Fawcett, a wide-leg style in rigid denim. But the room was abuzz about the Crawford, the pair I settled on too. It’s a high-rise straight leg. I took my true size in the lightest wash. For the full ’90s look of the jeans’ namesake, wear them with the brand’s Boyfriend shirt in fine cotton poplin. It’s as good as a $250 ready-to-wear shirt gets. It’s relaxed and perfectly right for the office or a fancy dinner. One warning if you’re anywhere near my height (I’m 4ft11): the Boyfriend will be too long to tuck in, and the Crawford requires shortening.
6397’s pre-fall drop has exceptionally good skirts. I first fell for this wool Godet knit skirt, but then I spotted the Scraps skirt: six different patterned silk panels, mixing printed and embroidered crepe de chine, georgette, and twill, sewn together slightly askew to create the illusion of a wrap. My first thought was how very Dries-like!, but that sells it short. The construction is genuinely unlike anything else I’ve seen.

Rachel Comey adds more fall pieces, which means a beautiful new cherry-red colorway for the brand’s evergreen Fond and Fonder sweatshirts inspired by studio dancers, and a shaved shearling Dickie with belt loops, which may be the most compelling fall piece I have seen so far this season.
DONNI is an absolute juggernaut of summer dressing among readers of this newsletter and far beyond it. The brand has perfected the release of fabrics and shapes people go wild for in a series of well-timed drops that make it impossible to ignore all season. I’m curious to see whether it can keep that same level of excitement going through fall and winter when the DONNI frenzy usually quiets a little. I, for one, have no plans to stop wearing my silk taffeta anytime soon. The first fall drop is here. I like the silk balloon pants in cream or rich oxblood. The silk crop pants get lace-trimmed racer stripes. I’m also on board with the idea of taking a sporty classic like a raglan-sleeve baseball tee and making it in 100% silk charmeuse.
Kallmeyer’s Fall 2026 collection is here. An iteration of one of the brand’s most popular silhouettes from last season, the Ornella silk blouse has two long panels that fall past the knee. Wear it, as it was on the runway, under this wool gazar cropped blazer. My favorite piece is probably the Saba shrug with a built-in scarf, large shawl collar, and oversized cuffed tunic sleeves. A dependable volume-builder for those of us who are about to wear a whole lot of black.
Restocked
A big LESET Kyoto Carpenter pant restock! Every size is back in the Classic colors—I had been waiting and ordered Birch—and in bright LESET Blue. The brand also restocked the Rio capri and added a chocolate colorway.
Kaia Gerber’s Kyoto pant color has been restocked Just in time for fall, Labucq restocks its two iconic boots: the Joan (ankle height, square toe, stacked welt) and the Janis (mid-calf, buckled, buffed leather).
Apiece Apart restocks the chambray version of the Bari Crop trousers.
Alex Mill restocks the waxed canvas Cropped Chiltern jacket and releases it in Cobalt (a color extremely close to LESET’s blue pictured above).
AYR restocks the new sold-out Getup jeans in both washes.
Maria McManus introduces its Fall 2026 collection. The standout silhouette is this wrap skirt trouser made from fine wool flannel. The champagne colorway is in the same fabric as a pair of basketball shorts from the brand I bought a few seasons ago. I wear them all year round. The Irish designer is committed to sustainable production, and elsewhere in the collection, you’ll find the best-selling drawstring pant in a striped Japanese satin, made from a fiber created from sustainably managed wood pulp and recycled waste material, including hard-to-recycle plastics.
Cou Cou Intimates and Sandy Liang collaborated on a limited capsule inspired by back-to-school nostalgia, including printed pajamas trimmed in French lace.
CO’s first fall drop is a rich mix of draped chocolate suede, striped silk, and slouchy wool. This relaxed wrap suede jacket is finished with a tapered hem. If you want a lower-maintenance material, it also comes in cotton twill. These tailored wide-leg pants sit low on the waist and have flat pleats. Pair them with this striped silk shirt with exaggerated cuffs.
DISSH’s latest arrivals include natural-fiber tops where structure outperforms the price point. The cotton Nellie top is flared through the hem; I’d wear the deep-V Olerna dress over trousers; and the linen Aureli top has a notched scoop neckline that makes a simple shape much more interesting.
Jamie Haller’s black High Vamp ballet flats are completely sold out, but the brand dropped them this morning in bright cherry red.
New and noteworthy from Anine Bing are the short denim Pascale trench, lightweight semi-sheer knits like the Tiana sweater, and the draped jersey Fran top.
