Aflalo jeans are the talk of the town. I was lucky enough to be gifted a pair, and I chose the Verne in rigid denim. I love how I feel in these jeans, and I already want to wear them constantly, which says a lot, given how little denim I wear (I now own exactly three pairs). I recommend sizing down. I’m a size 25, ordered a size 24, and they still fit me very generously, gaping slightly around my hips, which I find very flattering. They’re low-rise jeans. You gotta commit to the bit. Because I love a true straight leg, I also look forward to trying on the Orwell when I’m in New York next week. They’re meant to be the brand’s take on the perfectly fitting pair of vintage Levi’s. I have been waiting to receive my pair before reporting on the brand’s equally excellent fall arrivals, which culminate in the impressive Kai skirt and Bodelle bomber, crafted from dimensional fettuccia jacquard ribbons. A hyper-modern take on a skirt suit.
A Kelly Williams Notes thread crowdsourcing everyone’s favorite corduroys of the season led me to Jeanerica’s Kyoto in grey velvet, which came with a unanimous verdict. I’d previously searched high and low for reviews with anything remotely negative to say about Jeanerica pants and jeans, to no avail. (Actually, that’s not entirely true. I did find negative reviews. From men. On Reddit. Anyway.) The tall girls love ‘em. The short girls love ‘em. Everyone else seems to be saying some variation of “best buy of the year,” “best contemporary jean I’ve tried in years,” “yes, they are worth it,” and “I own four pairs in four different washes”. For most people, the gateway to the brand is the Kyoto line.
All Three Fall/Winter ‘26 is seriously good. Fans of the Zina pants (and they are many) will be pleased to find a new version cut to sit low on the hip, with the same sculpted barrel leg. If you’re tall, stick to the Zina, which have the extra length. The silk velvet Zori pants have an elastic waistband that dips into a subtle V at the front. The Noa is a five-pocket, jean-cut pant in 100% fine Italian wool, for anyone whose wardrobe has already reached denim saturation. Pair them with the Vik suede cape and Yana belt (I’m very into oversized belts loaded with silver hardware right now. She started it), and you have the outfit equivalent of Dakota Johnson’s spoken-word cameo on Role Model’s track Love I You. Playful, cool, and delicious.

I dropped by COS to inspect their mid-season outerwear, which is always very strong, and walked out with three new long-sleeved Clean Cut T-shirts, one striped and two Brooke Callahan-esque brights, cherry red and electric purple. You need to size up one size, or two if you have a larger chest and, like me, prefer a sweatshirt-y fit. That said, I bought them less to wear on my back than to tie around my waist. I have a small pile of sweaters and long-sleeved tees in the corner of my wardrobe dedicated to this well-documented styling hack. From September to May, I’m either wearing a belt or one of these tied around my waist, and the long-sleeved Clean Cut tee is the perfect weight for it. Back to why I was there: no sign yet of the pristine Car Coat that was this newsletter’s most-sold piece in both 2024 and 2025. However, my friend Cassandra Lanrick (she’s an amazing follow for everyday styling, and she’s 5’3”) alerted her followers that her most-asked-about tailored wool coat is back: double-breasted here and checked single-breasted here. Naturally, I also bought new pairs of these socks, which, if you’re new here, are the only socks I ever buy.
Pre-orders for Tibi’s 2026 Capsule collection are open. This is their holiday collection, hence the bright ruffled satin, sequins (done right!), and metallic knits. The Crispy Nylon Winslows are back, as is the lightweight sweatshirting version that remains unrivaled in the fancy-looking sweats category. Personally, I have my eye on the 4-ply silk side drape cami.
The best thing to come out of Alex Mill’s just-dropped fall collection is a new set of seasonal colorways for the Prince Street ballet flat. It’s the perfect doesn’t-try-too-hard classic ballet flat, and my go-to recommendation for a well-made pair under $230. The new colorways include a true gold metallic, patent dark jade green, patent vibrant purple, and burgundy.
I think about TWP’s embellished Buckle Bunny belt at least six times a day.
It’s never too soon for cashmere when it looks like Extreme Cashmere’s n°519 candy, a halter top with long cords threaded with cream-colored beads, which can fall down the back or be draped over the front like a statement necklace. There’s also the cotton-candy colored Havana, which works as either a top or a minidress. The layering possibilities are endless.
My too-long green satin column skirt had been teetering on the edge of the resale pile. In a last-ditch effort to rescue it, I bought this new Dries gold jacquard belt to wear over it, and suddenly the skirt makes sense.
If you’re not yet familiar with OZMA, I think of it as a cross between Donni, Studio Nicholson, and Apiece Apart. The brand makes its easygoing pieces between LA and Peru, with an emphasis on responsible production and giving back. It’s best known for its raw silk tees, a collection of tees and tanks made from regeneratively farmed 100% silk jersey. They’re priced below many comparable cotton basics on the market. I’ve been wanting to buy the Bigger tee, which gets high praise for its beautiful drape. It fits very oversized, so size down one or two sizes. The new Uno silk tank in chocolate brown also looks great, as does the recycled nylon anorak. And 100% of the proceeds from this cute blush-pink silk bandana go to nonprofit organizations.
Belt this. Belt that. When fall comes around, I find it difficult not to wear one. It’s the look I gravitate toward, and I regret ever buying anything without belt loops, which is why I love this Tory Burch corduroy skirt with its western nod. In addition to multi-buckle belts, may I suggest multi-buckle shoes, such as these dusky blue slingbacks?

The highlight of Emme Parsons’ first fall drop is this tan grosgrain Minori boot. A boutique I stopped by during my trip to Comporta last weekend stocked Emme Parsons; I’m always tickled by how satisfyingly square the toes of their shoes, boots, and sandals are.
