Wishlist Worthy Newness
Alex Mill has restocked and added new colourways to their Waxed Cotton Chiltern Street Jacket, $325. It sold out in two days last time. The consensus on sizing is that it runs pretty large, and the fit is generously oversized. Your usual size will allow for chunky layers underneath. Vintage shoppers will also find a few excellent barn jackets in the next section.

I love a good navy pleated skirt at any length. This Nylon Pull-On Skirt Tibi released as part of their Fundamentals line is a good base to either style your more experimental pieces or build a minimalist capsule around.
Norma Kamali's styling leaves much to be desired, but this $225 catsuit is incredible if you have somewhere to wear it.
I haven’t much to report on the capsule collection Posse launched with Moda Operandi two weeks ago, but I like their new Spencer trousers. If you haven’t yet added a kick flare to your pant collection - it was a rare pivotal addition to my wardrobe - because you were waiting for a woven version with belt loops, this could be the one for you.
I am obsessed with the weathered leather on Bottega’s new Astaire loafers. I suspect the new Marella heeled thong sandal with Intrecciato insole will soon be sold out, snapped up by the minimalist fashion set starting their summer shopping early.
Bottega Veneta’s new Astaire loafers and Marella sandals. I found the globe necklace and brooch styled throughout Beaufille’s new collection very exciting.
Almada Label’s new knitwear is delectable. This nougat-coloured, narrow strap top or this cashmere racer back one make refined winter evening options. The fit of their new cashmere crewneck reminds me of the Guest In Residence sweater I wear every single day, but it is $200 cheaper.
Still from Almada, if you like the look of brushed cashmere, this is delicious. If you like the look but your budget doesn’t stretch quite that far, J Crew also released a brushed cashmere edit this week. The brushed cashmere polo sets you back just $138.

If you live in warmer climes or you’ve switched gears to shopping climes, the new frocks that have caught my eye this week include this Banana Republic poplin tie-waist midi dress. The gathered neckline and shoulder topstitching reflect a decent amount of pattern complexity for a $160 dress. I love the open-back detail on this House of Dagmar minimalist dress - accessorise with the brand’s oval sunglasses.
Crinkle cotton dresses, hemp canvas dungarees, hand Kantha-stitched vests, and Japanese denim coats. Toast’s new collection epitomises the British brand’s celebration of a utilitarian aesthetic, love-worn elegance, and slow outdoor/indoor living.
My favourite brand, Studio Nicholson, released their Spring collection, so of course, I was at their Broadwick Street store on Thursday to see it up close. My favourite look is the pleated Fuse wool skirt with its off-centre slit and matching detachable-scarf top (as seen below). I also love the navy linen version of my beloved Chalco pants.

It’s unlikely you’ve missed the release of JW Anderson’s scarf bag. I still think the brand makes some of the most design-forward and best-priced designer bags; I love my Twister. The contrast-topstitch leather penis key ring makes a great gift for the friend who has everything, mind in the gutter included.
In an excellent post last week,
asked Is ‘Matching’ The Antithesis Of Good Taste? I’m stubbornly sticking to my matching ways; I want to wear Kallmeyer’s striped short-sleeved tee layered on top of the longer-sleeved one (early aughts style!) and under the matching field jacket.I have written a lot about good basics recently (see below), and seamless layers in a mix of natural fibres always come out on top for me. If you’re still laser-focused on perfecting your winter wardrobe, there’s a noteworthy basic with excellent layering potential in Everlane’s new organic cotton and recycled cashmere funnel neck.
086. Why Someone Else's 'Wardrobe Essentials' Won't Get You Far
This week, I came across a Vogue article titled ‘I Just Got Back From NYC, And All The Girls Are Wearing The Same Jacket’. And this is enticing to whom? I replied out loud to no one. Most conversations around fashion I have participated in or been privy to this year have centred around cultivating one’s individuality. People who consume fashion content …
091. A Nerdy Decision Tree To Shop Smarter Wardrobe Basics
For this last newsletter of the year, I wanted to wrap up the conversation we started a few weeks ago about wardrobe basics. Recently, I have published a mix of tactical pieces geared toward wardrobe efficiency and pieces encouraging more joy-inspiring purchases
Vintage Finds and Pre-Loved Gems
Each week, (non-affiliate) links to hand-picked pre-loved gems and vintage finds will be below the paywall for exclusive access to paid subscribers.
I love vintage Ralph Lauren. It delivers on great barn jackets like this one in black denim with suede cuffs (size L, $102) or this red one with its toggle buttons (size L, $69). I have a soft spot for the striped versions (size M, $68), (size M, $60). This silk and cashmere paisley top (size L here and size M petite here, $29) is also cooler than half of the SSENSE website right now.
Every winter, I struggle to find good knitted sweaters with colourful jacquard or intarsia patterns. Vintage Eddie Bauer 100% wool sweaters from the late eighties and nineties cost a tiny fraction of what you’d pay today for an Alanui or Elder Statesman knit, except these have already proven they stand the test of time as they were built to withstand extreme conditions (size M, $45), (size XS petite, $39), (size XL, $85), (size M, $49), (size M, $25), (size L, $45). See also some great distressed men’s leather jackets (L, $199) (L, $179) and car coats (L, $195).
On Vestiaire, this now discontinued JW Anderson piercing mini bag ($259) stopped my scrolling.
This monochrome black and red jacket reminds me of Prada’s landmark Spring 2022 collection. Searching for vintage outerwear from British brand Aquascutum, I also found a great checked cuff car coat (size XL, $115), this cool reversible gilet (size L, $37), and some really good pure wool scarf coats (size M, $342), (size M, $236), (size L, $300), (size XL, $255).
Not vintage but rare finds: this STORY MFG 100% organic cotton cardigan for $161 instead of $870 and this Prada bouclé polo knit (size S, $242).
Other vintage designer items that caught my eye this week include this Prada fitted suede jacket (size S, $250), this Prada beautiful silk and lace camisole (size L, $283), this cotton Céline skirt with its distressed pattern, which I might beat you to (size S, $145), this Bottega Veneta cotton blazer (size S, $135), and this Coach leather jacket (size S, $210).
Beautiful unbranded suede pieces included this Penny Lane-esque shearling-lined coat for $128 and this nineties top and patchwork shirt for $49.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting Every Body Gets Dressed.

Thank you for introducing me to Studio Nicholson!
Hahah I feel like I need to write a disclaimer about my criticisms of “matching”. Maybe I’ll do another snobby post about tasteful matching next week 😂.
In general I feel like Norma Kamali is what Bianca Censori would wear if she decided to wear clothes, but that jumpsuit is pretty fab. And I both hate and am very attracted to that JW scarf bag. Maybe it’s the fringe and suede I can’t resist. Those Bottega sandals though. Dying.
