Every Body Gets Dressed’s weekly round up of the newness, sales, and restocks worth your attention.
The Row’s Ophelia sweater has inspired no shortage of dupes, and it’s no secret that this sweater from Tuckernuck comes closest. It has the same raised seam at the back, balloon sleeves, and rib trims. The fabric composition (65% wool, 35% cashmere) and weight are exactly the same. Customers who have both report similar softness, with some even preferring Tuckernuck’s. The Row uses a more tightly spun, compact yarn, while the Tuckernuck is fluffier and plusher. The trade-off: it pills more, requiring a couple more shaves per season. As of this week, that winning sweater is back in stock, in new colors, and 20% off with code FAMILY at checkout (for 11 more hours only). As someone who spends 250 days a year in a cashmere crewneck, if I lived in the US or Canada, I’d order all four colors right now. Even then, the total would still come in below the OG. And that’s pre-discount. [Sizing notes: the Ophelia is extremely oversized, while the Tuckernuck is oversized but less so, and a little shorter. Take your true size. Size up if you’re very tall. If you already own The Row’s sweater, go one size up from your Ophelia size.]
6397 is my fashion crush. New York Fashion Week was abuzz with talk of the brand. I bought last season’s Scraps skirt on the first day of my trip. One XS left here. Designer Stella Ishii got her start in fashion as the right hand of Comme des Garçons founder Rei Kawakubo, and that eye for unexpected styling runs through the brand’s fall drop, live this week. There’s the selvedge shift dress, in lightweight Italian velvet that drapes like liquid gold on the body; the reversible freezer jacket, in dyed cotton canvas that flips to reveal a nylon side; and the raw edge nipped-in jacket and matching chocolate wool skirt, styled over a bright turquoise sweater.

The fabrics, in particular, are excellent. I tried on pieces from the brand’s latest arrivals at Bomi (the buy is incredible). The Stoa pants are my ideal pull-on wool pants; I preferred them to LESET’s Jane Carpenter. If you like monochromatic outfits, pair them with the matching Stoa wool shirt. I bought an incredible pair of silk pants that I can’t find online yet. The closest is the Mason pant, also 100% silk, with the same tiered flounce detail. Finally, I wishlisted this gathered cotton jersey top.
If you have crop fatigue, High Sport now has a full-length stretch-knit pant. Better still: it has belt loops.
AYR released a new wash of the Secret Sauce jeans, Babes, described as a “classic California blue,” alongside an oversized mid-weight cashmere tee with rolled trims, The Oversize Kiss, in sporty heather gray and a smarter butter yellow. I’m also seeing the Deep End silk shirt recommended everywhere as people update their fall wardrobes.
The Row’s Soft Loafers are sold out. Thank goodness. Next on my wishlist were these new Mar loafers from Scarosso. I switched from black leather to light brown suede at the last minute, and I’m very glad I did. They look especially good with mid-wash denim. [Sizing notes: This is my second pair of Scarosso loafers. Based on my first pair, I went down half a size, which was right. They arrived quite snug but were perfect after one or two wears.] I’d also like to try the new Ambra boot as I continue my search for an ankle boot with a sharp, elongated toe.
Restocked
If you missed the Khaite x Oliver Peoples restock, I’d redirect you to Jimmy Fairly’s Aela sunglasses. They prompted my much, much cooler sister to copy me for the first time. Like the Khaite pair, they sold out and amassed a waiting list. As of yesterday, they’re back in stock. Like the Khaite ones, I don’t expect them to stay that way for long. Also, they’re $150.
Tibi’s Sid jeans are back in stock.
Maria McManus’s reversible duster coat is back in stock. Champagne on one side, black on the other, in the brand’s signature Japanese satin. A perfect evening coat.
Harris Tapper restocked the sold-out knot top in bonded satin.
The High Sport paisley kick pants I spotted on four different people in Soho are back on pre-order.

I invested in an earlier version of their shearling coat three winters ago. It was the most I’d ever spent on a piece of clothing, and I have barely known cold since. This season, the standout is a new hooded belted wool coat, also available in a shorter version. If you don’t need such a heavy layer, the same scarf detail appears on a leather jacket, finished with a contrasting wool scarf, and a wool mélange blazer.
Controversy around the COS runway has obscured the clothes themselves: creative director Karin Gustafsson is doing minimalist pieces in rich materials, with flashes of 1920s glamour. See the dropped waist and handkerchief-like hem on this wool dress. There are double-faced wool coats and collarless shearling at a fraction of TOTEME’s prices. A lot of the runway pieces are already sold out, but sign up for restock notifications. I suspect you’ll get another chance. Some of the richest-looking purple this season is also coming from COS: See the eggplant shawl-collar coat, fluid scarf-detail top, and bright purple mock-neck cashmere sweater.
That said, I’m also taken with the purple on this &Daughter slouch sweater. And I love a shallow V-neck.
LESET launched shoes. I like the white Mary Jane with the cutout detail and the Romy suede mule in cobalt blue. There’s also the September collection with shades of slate gray and taupe. At their West Village store, I bought the Nando slim tee in the new colorway. They didn’t have the long-sleeved one, so I ordered it online. The Nando is my second favorite after the Laura, which is their softest, most luxurious, and most underrated fabric.
Donni’s latest fall drop brings new colors of the silk taffeta cargo pants, a sore subject since one of my two pairs just came back from the dry cleaners ruined. They now come in espresso, pewter, oxblood, and the returning crème. The drop also includes heavy cotton knits: a crew neck and a V-neck. I’d do crème head to toe with the V-neck. Poised.

I bought an earlier version of the Babouche two years ago, and they remain one of the most comfortable pairs I own. [Sizing note: Take your true size; when in doubt, go down half a size.]
La Ligne launched the Colby in suede, in chocolate, navy, and blue gray. I’d pair it with the lightweight silk-and-wool Ben V-neck sweater.
Gigi Hadid’s Guest In Residence has launched denim. The Traveler jean is cut from soft cotton denim and designed, as the name suggests, for travel. The Workday jean is a carpenter-style pant in rigid denim. I like the carmine red wash and the suede-like finish. Both styles run small; size up.
Frame has launched its Friends and Family sale, with 25% off selected pieces, including this 100% cashmere cardigan, this garnet suede shirt, and several of the brand’s best-selling jeans.
Dorsey’s new Sylvie cascading earrings catch the light and move with you in a single line of moissanite that falls 3 inches from the ear. The brand suggests keeping your neckline bare and your hair tucked behind your ears.
Under $300
Coucou Intimates launched its organic cotton classics, like the iconic Rina tee, in navy.
Alex Mill’s cashmere store is live, with signature favorites and new silhouettes across thirty-four colors. At the Mercer Street shop, I tried on the Marais sweater. It’s a great everyday cashmere if you want warmth without much bulk. It’s much more fitted than something like The Row’s Ophelia. Sizing notes: I recommend going up a size. If you’re very tall, you may find it too cropped. The Montmartre is their classic V-neck.
