I admire Studio Nicholson, but have always wondered if they would drown me (five foot and half an inch) so I was interested to see you say they are a favourite. How does their sizing work for you?
Hi Louise! It's a very valid concern: many of their styles don't fit me/are way too overwhelming on me. For example, the Nasser, which I absolutely love the look of, look absolutely insane on me, even in the smallest size. The Chalco and the Seb, for example, have got that PERFECT oversized baggy slouch. I really should do a detailed guide, of all their styles, it would be worthwhile since I constantly yap about them and many of their styles are evergreen (which I love). In the meantime, it's bad news: trial and error 😭. Does SSENSE have forgiving returns policy to and from where you live? Because they store a decent range. One thing is for sure: never be tempted to size up, it's sort of the bane of my existence because their smallest size always sells out (I've tried giving feedback many times but I doubt it gets escalated) but I know that if I size up, I'll be able to swim in those pants. I'm not sure this was even remotely helpful, but hope it clarifies things. I will seriously consider doing that style guide at some point this year. Xxx PS - one more thing I just thought of, the tutor I mentioned says that Uniqlo provides very good alternatives to SN, I don't know if I fully agree with that until I've tested that claim, but thought I'd share in case it's helpful and Uniqlo is more geographically accessible to you.
This is very helpful, and I'd love it if you did a style guide. I'm living in Uniqlo cords at the moment, and I love them, but I don't love a lot of their fabric combinations, and I don't find that their cuts have that edge that makes SN just stand out. I hadn't looked at SSENSE before, and they have lots of lovely stuff, but their shipping is quite steep, so I may have to wait until I'm in the UK to try on some stuff in person!
The pink chiffon top and skirt set from Posse sounds absolutely dreamy! I love how chiffon adds such an ethereal, romantic quality to pieces. Perfect for transitioning into spring.
I ADORE that set. I'm really contemplating it for myself but I'm still hesitating because that color isn't greaaaaat on me, and I think that in black loses the appeal of the design a little. I still have the long cold spring months to decide!
