135. 10K-Step Boots, Polka-Dot Silk Cargo Pants, and Benchmark Cotton T-Shirts
This is EVERY BODY GETS DRESSED’s weekly edit of the only fashion news worthy of your attention.
Donni’s January Edit dropped yesterday and includes a polka dot version of their 100% silk taffeta drawstring cargo pants in three colorways: cream with black dots, espresso with cream dots, and navy with oxblood dots.
Zebra is everywhere—on newly dropped pony hair bags: Rachel Comey’s small double-flap Witch shoulder bag and Nili Lotan’s Freddie, a semi-structured tote. Jamie Haller declared zebra a neutral on the basis that it holds up well to the cold-to-warm color spectrum. They have used zebra pony hair for their Penny loafers (sizes 37.5 and 38 left, until the next restock), and Kitty pointed-toe heels, which the designer says feel ‘sassy and bitchy, but fun.’ The pony hair (also available in leopard and baby pink) is the softest-feeling version of this already very comfortable shoe. Khaite continues to expand its zebra-patterned selection; this paneled bag is quite unusual. Clever of Khaite to make a $2,000 bag that looks completely different on the reverse, two bags in one.
Kallmeyer released new denim, and these tiger’s-eye and sandwashed (in tapered or column-leg) shades are very appealing to this non-jean-wearer.

Flore Flore basics have just been restocked on SSENSE. Standout designs are the perpetually sold-out Timmi boatneck tank, the sexy Iman v-neck, and the very layerable Fem long-sleeved t-shirt. The Amsterdam-based brand also expanded their stockists list (good news for anyone outside of Europe) and is now available on Net-A-Porter. I found that if you want to keep the soft, lustrous quality of their undeniably superior organic cotton, you will need to wash and dry it as you do with your more delicate fabrics. This isn’t low-maintenance cotton.
Labucq is a brand I haven’t tried yet, but its online cult following always intrigues me. I have seen some of my pickiest peers rave about the comfort and walkability of the Joan and Janis boots. Talia Mayden walked 10k steps a day in a different pair of boots for a month, and the Janis is the pair she picked as the winner of the best going-out boots category. They’re usually sold out and just became available on pre-order. You get 15% off your pre-order with code PREORDER15 before January 30. Joan is estimated to ship on February 6, and Janis on February 20. Their collab with FBC, a heeled loafer with a lug sole that had Reddit go crazy, is also back in stock. One of them is a mismatched pair! The lore is lost on me, but I stand behind anything offbeat and quirky.
Speaking of, the pair that won for most walkable boots across all categories was a pair from Marsèll. Talia’s most walkable sandals last summer were also a pair from Marsèll. I’ve yet to see a single negative or even neutral review about the Italian shoemaker. They just dropped their Spring-Summer 26 collection on La Garçonne, where you will also find a few pairs on sale. There are also quite a few pairs left in the SSENSE sale. Their sizing runs large to very large. You can confidently order at least one full-size down from your usual.
These coats and blazers from Toteme are on sale. A Toteme shearling coat remains the best investment I have ever made in my wardrobe.

Tibi’s new Fundamentals, the building blocks of their Creative Pragmatism approach, are grounding pieces that tie everything in your wardrobe together and create space for creativity and experimentation. They are available for pre-order (delivery between January 15 and January 29). They’ve also launched a lamb leather moto jacket with the signature low-hip belt design that makes this top the most-purchased Tibi item by readers of this newsletter.
The High Sport Kick Pant, which has Substack divided, has been restocked in exclusive colors in three different lengths—short, classic, and long—on their website.
Baserange sat out Cyber Weekend, but their up to 40% off sale is now on. 18 pages’ worth of it. You can filter by material and, for example, focus on their wild silk pieces, made from a fiber that comes from silkworms, which, as the name suggests, live in the wild. The silk is processed without killing the silkworms, which grow and munch on tree leaves until they reach their final size. They then begin spinning their cocoon, and once they leave it, the silk is collected and processed into yarn. Wild silk is much more textured than regular silk and is comparable to wool.
My favorite thing to wear this winter is a scarf or shawl, draped ‘tails-back’ so the front looks like a collar, and both ends are swung over the shoulders. See it here and here on Alexis Badiyi. Attersee’s new crochet-trimmed tassel scarf is the perfect accessory to execute this.
Veronica Beard’s new arrivals feature many great items, including this reimagined layered button-down, this chic ruffled T-shirt, this leather-trimmed peplum jacket, and this Khaite Benny-lookalike belt.

J.Crew launched an après-ski (and beyond) collection in partnership with U.S. Ski and Snowboard. Net-A-Porter has a skiwear edit with 700+ pieces for on and off the slopes. I’m skiing this year for the first time in a decade, and I don’t know when I’ll go next, so I’ll sort prices from low to high and make my selection among pieces from Varley. I’m wearing their Betsy sweater today, like every day I have worked from home this year so far. Their DoubleSoft® fabric is everything I have seen fast-fashion try and fail to imitate with ephemeral chemical coating—an almost liquid-soft fabric that lasts wash after wash and doesn’t pill (provided you don’t put it in the dryer).
Tory Burch just dropped their mini Year of the Horse collection.
Finally, if you work in a corporate environment, the recent Sophie Turner feature for Net-A-Porter provides sharp office-attire shopping ideas. That said, my favorite piece from the shoot is the (not office-friendly) Christen shearling-lined sandals. In the same vein, there’s Dakota Johnson’s cover shoot for Vogue Germany from October—I don’t work in an office but I pinned every single look to my moodboard.
