123. My New Favorite T-Shirt Comes From a Brand I Thought I'd Hate
Plus: Marie Antoinette as the Manolo Blahnik muse and Tory Burch's Wispy Blazer
This is EVERY BODY GETS DRESSED’s weekly curated edit of the only fashion newness worthy of your attention.
- L’Agence is a brand I’ll admit I’ve historically turned my nose up at. Something about the imagery and creative direction didn’t appeal. But some of my most discerning peers kept linking it, so I gave it a go. Based on the five pieces I received, there’s someone on that product development team doing their job very, very well. The micro-rib and the micro modal versions of this fitted tee have become my favorite tees (fitted tees, I should say; my favorite boxy tee is this one). This scoop-neck tank is also a favorite for its thickness. I also got these low-rise brown jeans. They call them wide-leg, but they look more like a bootcut to me. I had two teens run after me in Notting Hill to ask where I’d gotten them. Tell me a greater earthly delight, as a woman in her late thirties, than unsolicited praise from Gen Z.
- I popped into COS this past weekend, picked up this asymmetric velvet top in brown, and went two sizes bigger for comfort and an oversized look. It’s ruched at the waist, so you could go for a smaller size to achieve a cinched fit. It’s also available in an inky navy that screams decadence. I also restocked on neutral colors of the best and only socks I wear.
- Marie Antoinette has inspired designers from Vivienne Westwood to Yohji Yamamoto, and will be the subject of an exhibit at London’s V&A Museum come March. But for now, it’s Manolo Blahnik’s turn to pay homage to the French queen via the Marie Antoinette capsule shoe collection. Our favorite pair is the Hebes red T-bar pumps inspired by the costuming in Sofia Coppola’s 2006 film. Inevitably, given their muse, some of the styles are a little out-there, but the black Clementel criss-cross mules, designed to emulate corsetry, make for a wearable option.
- Tory Burch recently released the handbag jacket in leather and denim, a collarless biker covered in pockets and carabiner clips. Our new editor, Juno, has always loved the deconstructed look (to the point that she often adds zips and exposed stitching to her clothes), so she was immediately drawn to this piece. If you’re looking for something for the winter months, we would advise getting the leather iteration in a size up so you can layer it over a sweater, or opting instead for this ink wool blazer with a fringe-effect, a smart but warm option for bouncing between meetings on cold days.

- Dorsey is restocking their coveted Cecilia moissanite earrings for the final time this year (available for pre-order with 25th November shipping). The drop earrings come in gold, silver, and an unusual honey moissanite, in varying carats for different budgets.
- The earrings would also look chic poking out from one of these Gil Rodriguez cashmere-blend bandanas, which are available in red, baby pink, charcoal and brown. As someone who’s innately averse to any kind of itchy material touching my skin, the fact that this bandana is a blend of cashmere and wool and was hand-knitted using a single thread for softness is a major green flag, as is the fact that it was made in collaboration with French cashmere brand Tricot.
- On the subject of cashmere, Baserange is also selling a selection of cashmere accessories. I would pair the Melograno red hood with the brand’s black Pyrenees jacket in brushed wool, perfect for those cold mornings followed by surprisingly balmy afternoons.
- Frame has just dropped the straight trouser, a jean-trouser hybrid made of stretch denim for comfort and polish. As they finish below the ankle, you can wear them with a pointed boot poking out underneath. The brand also released its cult favorite Le slim palazzo pants in maroon lamb leather, which would pair nicely with the brand’s maroon velvet blazer for a mixed-texture uniform-color look.
- AYR just released more shades of their Secret Sauce jeans, the pair of straight jeans that contributing editor says is the ultimate pair after trying on dozens. Opt for these if you find thicker denim more flattering. We think the good mood, stoked, and date night shades make for the nicer washes.
- Over the weekend, LA-based independent designer Jamie Haller accused Everlane of copying its shoe designs. Haller, the brand’s founder and designer, took to Instagram to say, “I’ve been hearing that Everlane has been sending my shoes to factories in Italy to get my look and feel…how dare you. I’m a small independent designer business. You are a huge company. You should do better.” Haller went on to express frustration that Everlane had the means to mass-produce and could therefore offer a lower price point. Granted, reference sampling is standard practice in product development, but we can see how infuriatingly similar the finished product is to Haller’s.
- Labucq has introduced a fun focus-group-style game, whereby its website shows you the styles in development for 2026, allowing you to select which one you’re most likely to wear. It’s designed to help the brand “make more sustainable production decisions,” aka produce fewer of the less coveted garments, and you get a 15% discount upon completion. But if you can’t wait until 2026, I’m currently lusting after the Joan boots in antique brown and black and the Janet boots in black. I saw the Joan on a chic French friend when I was in Paris last week. She wore them with an all black outfit and a very boxy coat, and it looked fabulous.
- There are few things more elegant than a silk suit, and Attersee’s shantung charcoal skirt and jacket are no exception. Shantung is a plain-weave silk originating from the Shandong region of China, and is known for its high luster and distinctive texture. If you’re interested in the fabric but the suit pricing is a little high, you can opt for the Brea bag or the attachable wrap belt with feedbag pockets. Let the latter peep out from a tailored blazer or biker jacket.
- Aritzia just launched leather jackets for the first time, in the form of two oversized buttery bikers in brown and black. The brand also dropped a new winter coat, the slouch, which includes three height options, allowing you to procure one that sits in the right place, negating the need for expensive tailoring.
- I’ve loved John Malkovich since he broke the world’s collective heart in Of Mice and Men, so I was thrilled to see him in the new JW Anderson campaign for the brand’s loafer bag. The satchel was first introduced at the SS25 show and comes in both leather and suede. Its larger size is perfect for carrying a laptop, and, as it’s unisex, would also make for a thoughtful gift for a partner or dad. The brand’s men’s knitted blue steel striped sweater and half zip knit jumper, too would make for great presents, that can be deftly plucked from the recipient’s wardrobe by the gifter.
